COPLINK Visualization Tool Connects Crime Clues And Suspects
posted by Editor on Friday January 31, @05:59PM
Data Visualization COPLINK is a Crime Relations Visualization system developed at the University of Arizona AI Laboratory to help law enforcement officers process large amounts of data and determine their relationships. The visualizer uses a hyperbolic tree view for visualizing crime relationships stored in a back-end database of clues and suspects. Police officers can see all entities connected to an individual, including clues and relationships with other people, and then they can expand the view to see what those entities are connected to. This article in Communications of the ACM (PDF) describes the system in more detail.
